Covering Theatre and the Arts is another style of photography that's a natural progression from Music Photography - the stage lighting can be as varied and it's important to freeze the action at the right time (or capture movement as needed). I started with theatre photography when Colchester Fringe Festival started and I was invited to get involved, covering a lot of local talent in multiple venues. As the Fringe Festival increased in size and range I had to improve and really hone my workflow. At the most recent October festival I covered fourty-four shows across 10 days, all of which were edited and turned around the day after they were photographed to make sure there was plenty of images for marketing shows. As part of this I've worked in The Headgate Theatre, The Mercury Theatre Studio, Patch, Three Wise Monkeys, Coda, The Minories and more.
I've since worked with 3Wishes Theatre CIC and the Headgate Theatre to capture their shows for promotional purposes.
